THE TRAIN OF LIFE
https://youtu.be/qQVszxYgdkw
Everyone who rides the train of life,
By looking out to the last car rear.
One watches the miles roll by,
Marking the passing of every year.
https://youtu.be/lnCrf_RRRfg
Some sit in sad remembrance,
For wasted days gone by.
Yet curse their life for what it was, and
Only too hang their heads and cry.
But I don't concern myself with that,
As I look down my own chosen track.
That rolled forward to what my life held,
Yet not for what will be or back.
I asked to be strapped to the engine front,
And lash me there as securely as can be.
So my eyes can be out on the hunt,
To see what all I can see.
For I want to feel the winds of change,
Blowing in my face.
I want to see how my life unfolds,
As I move down the line to another place.
Then I may see what's coming up,
Not looking at the past.
My life's too short for yesterdays,
It moves along all too fast.
So if the ride gets bumpy,
Due to the sleepers while you are riding track.
Go up front, and see what you find,
If your life has not derailed back.
As it's all right to remember,
That's part of one’s life history.
But for me up front's where it's happening,
There's still so much mystery.
Is it not the enjoyment of living,
From where we once could have been.
Again, it's looking ever forward,
To another year to the unknown and unseen.
In searching all the possible life’s lines,
Never should you refrain.
For if you want to live your life fully,
You've gotta ride the train.
