MY FIRST DREAM OF JOYCE

MY FIRST DREAM OF JOYCE
Setting; well I am back in the Library again, where Joyce and I once worked of course. In this dream I find it dark, mostly of shadows, painted emotionally with the Librarian hierarchical pecking order, which always permeated the place and probably still does.
In this dream I was not working in the I.T. Department but more in a Circulation area, funny after 29 years of being at the Library I end up dreaming back almost at the beginning.
A Customer/Patron calls and someone says that what they want a hold that is supposed to be waiting for them. So I stop my shelf reading which is hard to do as everything is so blurry to do anyway and say, “I know where that is!”
Walking down a long dark shadowy Library corridor another worker (female), who I think I know from my past but do not. Suddenly pops out of where I just came from to say, you can forget the book as there is a phone call for me!
Walking back, she says it is important; on the other end of the call there is a bit of static but it is Joyce and at the same time that I am talking, I can see that she is talking from a pay phone.
Our Blue Chevy Beretta is idling beside her and there is someone, a young girl waiting in the back seat for Joyce to get back into the Beretta. I say hello and she says “Richard (static) coming t… pick you up…”.
More static and I see her lips move but no sound; I ask something stupid, “want me to drive?” Want to drive, am I mad, she can drive, what did I say that for???
That is not it, Joyce looks more upset as she cannot get what she wants to say to me across, the line is becoming fainter, more static and all I can see is more frustration on her face.
Though I must admit that Joyce looks fantastic, like she used to and the girl in the back seat, yes it is a older teenage girl; who beckons Joyce back into the Beretta.
My puppy dogs in real time now are trying to roust me from my sleep and I want to sleep more guys, please let me sleep! As I just got to find out what Joyce wants to say?  If I could only lip read, listen longer, guys come on, just let me sleep!
The line goes dead and I grudgingly awake to let them out, now I am awake from my first dream of Joyce.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpjU_LfXcPA

FOR YOU JOYCE

FOR YOU JOYCE
THE FULL ARMOUR OF GOD
Finally, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power. Put on the “Full Armour Of GOD”, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the “Full Armour Of GOD”, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the “Belt Of Truth”, buckled around your waist, with the “Breastplate Of Righteousness”, in place and with your “Feet Fitted With The Readiness”, that comes from the “Gospel Of Peace”.
In addition to all this, take up the “Shield Of Faith”, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the “Helmet Of Salvation” and the “Sword Of The Spirit”, which is the Word Of God.
And pray in the SPIRIT on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the LORD’s people.
Amen… Ephesians 6:10-18

1 HUNDRED YEARS AGO TODAY

1 HUNDRED YEARS AGO TODAY
WORLD WAR ONE STARTED ON JUNE 28 1914
Although a resurgence of imperialism was an underlying cause, the immediate trigger for war was the 28 June 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, by Yugoslav nationalist Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo now the Capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This set off a diplomatic crisis when Austria-Hungary delivered an ultimatum to the Kingdom of Serbia, and international alliances formed over the previous decades were invoked. Within weeks, the major powers were at war and the conflict soon spread around the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lW-OxoRuOg

On 28 July, the Austro-Hungarians fired the first shots in preparation for the invasion of Serbia. As Russia mobilised, Germany invaded neutral Belgium and Luxembourg before moving towards France, leading Britain (and Commonwealth Nations) to declare war on Germany. After the German march on Paris was halted, what became known as the Western Front settled into a battle of attrition, with a trench line that would change little until the year 1917. Meanwhile, on the Eastern Front, the Russian army was successful against the Austro-Hungarians, but was stopped in its invasion of East Prussia by the Germans. In November 1914, the Ottoman Empire joined the war, opening fronts in the Caucasus (Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia), Mesopotamia (the area including the countries, in and around modern-day Iraq) and the Sinai/Palestine (Egypt/Israel). The Ottoman Empire are also responsible during this war for the deaths of 1,000.000 Armenians.
Italy and Bulgaria went to war in 1915, Romania in 1916, and the United States in 1917.

THE COST IN LIVES:
Killed Total = 8,528,831
Wounded Total = 21,189,154
Total Prisoners and Missing in Action = 7,750,919
Total Approximant World War One Casualties = 37,466,904

Canada’s Cost in World War I 1914 - 1918:
628,736 Canadians served.
66,573 died and 138,166 were wounded.
2,818 were taken prisoner of war.
175 merchant seamen died by enemy action.

Canadian Siberian Expeditionary Force 1918 – 1919:
A Canadian military force sent to Vladivostok, Russia during the Russian Revolution to bolster the allied presence. Composed of 4,192 soldiers and authorized in August 1918, the force returned to Canada between April and June 1919. Canada also left behind, 14 Canadians who were killed in action.

Canadian WW1 Field Punishment:
During the First World War, members of the Canadian Expeditionary Force were subject to British military discipline, which allowed execution by firing squad for crimes such as desertion or cowardice. During the war, 25 Canadian soldiers were executed for purely military offences. While excluding the two Canadian Soldiers who were found guilty of non-military ordered murders in my opinion in an area where millions murdered millions?
Veteran Affairs Minister Ron Duhamel announced finally that on December 11, 2001 that these executed soldiers would have their names added to Canada's Books of Remembrance housed in Parliament Hill.

WAR
War is really a vast open air factory where the hours are long, unions not permitted
and safety conditions routinely flouted!
No more people died on this planet then would have died if they were not killed in a war.
Only their descendants were eliminated, along with all of their shared future possibilities...

THE BODY AT DEATH.

It is often fear that lies behind that question. As if death wasn’t terrifying enough without imagining some state of unrest or unconscious oblivion while we wait and wait and wait for JESUS to return to take us to heaven.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 “And the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit (or soul) returns to GOD who gave it.”

WHEN WE DIE DO WE GO TO HEAVEN IMMEDIATELY, OR AT THE SECOND COMING?
To answer quickly up front, your soul goes to heaven immediately when you die if you are a person who has trusted in the LORD JESUS CHRIST as his/her SAVIOUR goes immediately to heaven to be in the presence of the LORD. Though a person’s body is in the grave and decomposes or cremated, their soul and spirit (the immaterial part, the real person) goes immediately into the presence of the SAVIOUR. At the rapture, the dead in CHRIST return with Him and their bodies are raised so that their souls and spirits are joined with their resurrected, glorified bodies. At the same time, those who are alive when CHRIST returns are simply transformed into their glorified bodies like that of the SAVIOUR’s. There is no intermediate place or condition of soul sleep. Rather, believers are in heaven with the LORD and very much aware of His presence.

JESUS often talked about life going on into eternity. He didn’t just mean that our loved ones who have died would live on in our memories. He literally meant they would live on forever. Look closely at this conversation between JESUS and Martha, the sister of Lazarus who had just died. “’Your brother will rise again.’ Martha answered, ‘I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.’ JESUS said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die’”. Martha believed that her brother would rise on the last day of the earth’s existence, which the Bible refers to as Judgment Day. JESUS further comforts her by pointing out that Lazarus would not have to wait that long to experience the joys of eternal life. “Whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.” Our soul goes to be with CHRIST immediately when we die. In that sense, we will never die, even though our body remains here on earth until Judgment Day.

GOD’s missionary Paul was in constant danger because of his bold confession about Jesus. He spent a lot of time in court and in prison. He found comfort in knowing that if he had to die for believing in JESUS, it would be a blessing. “I desire to depart and be with CHRIST, which is better by far”. To “depart” and to “be with CHRIST” were simultaneous events. There is no allusion to a long period of time in between. Again Ecclesiastes 12:7 speaks about it this way; “And the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit (or soul) returns to GOD who gave it.”

The clearest statement comes when JESUS is on the cross next to another dying man. “Then he (the criminal) said, ‘JESUS, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom. JESUS answered him, ‘I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise’”. JESUS puts a time stamp on the soul’s trip to heaven with the word “today.” When JESUS gave His life on that very day, He paid for every sin and paved the path to heaven for everyone who puts their trust in Him. When He rose from the dead three days later, He secured the promise He just made to that dying man and to all of us. JESUS turned death from a curse into a blessing, a blessing that starts the moment we close our eyes for the last time. AMEN…

PLEASE HOLD ME CLOSE AND DO NOT GO AWAY…

PLEASE HOLD ME CLOSE AND DO NOT GO AWAY…
Daily I hope that, GOD or someone will check in on me.
For those calls that give me comfort I need to hear & see.

Believe me when I say to those who really care,
“I Love You All”
For my grief is strong, as yet I cannot repair.

Please hold me close and do not go away.
Please visit me, for I beg you, do stay.

Talk to me & please listen, for the one, whom I lost, can no longer speak.
I need “YOU ALL NOW” do not pass me by till next week.

Though my emotions are muddled, my needs unknown.
I need to be with others, for I lost my “Best Friend”;
Not knowing as now, I am for first time in 21 years but on my own.

This at times makes me scream, rant and shout.
Would this nightmare please just go away, do not be frightened.
For those who really care, I won’t push you out!

I smile at you – “Look he’s not that bad”
I shout near you – “Really he’s not going mad”
I speak to you – “Never able to replace her, what do I say?”
I show you my tears – “Please they will dry quickly, do not walk away”

Fear not, it’s not catchy, this grief which I feel.
Sorry as I cannot pretend that it’s not real.

I just carry on the best of which I now know.
JESUS my LORD please note; that this pain inside me just won’t let go.

So my “True Friends”, please, forget me not.
As might shout, I do cry, I just lost my wife, half of my life’s plot.

For I do know what I need, yes its but her, again each and every day!
Though now she is gone, please hold me close and do not go away…

THERE IS REASON

THERE IS REASON
Just as tears seem to dry and my crying will not bring you back again.
Emotionally I am still so fragile, just as I ask GOD for a reason just the same?
Yet, weary for that inner peace, which each night never seems to come.
I am carried through each day by the good memories of you,
which are lasting so long.
Good memories; are the reason that for me, you will never be gone…
