Today I received an actual letter from my friend Steve, whom I have known since 1969. He was cleaning files and found these 2 copies of letters that I had sent him (Thank U Steve) in 1987. The letters are written to Soviet General Secretary Gorbachev & President Ronald Reagan in regards to my fears of Total Nuclear War. That I and probably many more of us all had since the Cuban Missile Crises of 1962.

With President Reagan ratcheting up the US Military spending and the USSR (as Russia was known), were starting to get worried.
I thought that for the sake of my Children, Friends and Family that I would do something Peace Nick like and send letters of what I thought at the time to Soviet General Secretary Gorbachev & President Ronald Reagan. I also sent a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
Just so he did not feel left out but I do not have a copy of that letter to share. Nor did I get any response back from these gentlemen about my letters. You will see a typo correction attempt, which I created today but because of many health issues, I shake like I have palsy of late, so they do not look the best and yes I should have left the letters as they were.
Having served in the RCAF and seen what Chemical, Biological & Nuclear Warfare can really do in military training films!

Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty 1987 signed after my letters, which yes, I am dreaming if I think that they listened to me:
The INF Treaty was signed by President Reagan and Soviet General Secretary Gorbachev at a Washington Summit on December 8, 1987. On January 15, 1988, President Reagan signed National Security Directive 296 which instructed Secretary of Defense Frank Carlucci to establish a new agency the On-Site Inspection Agency to implement the Treaty's unprecedented on-site inspection and escort responsibilities.

Still I request that we all Pray For Peace as my “LETTERS OF PEACE 1987”;
I believe sadly, are still valid today!
