War of 1812, we provoked it, US started it, as in all wars lives wasted, battle of New Orleans fought after Peace Treaty was signed in Ghent Belgium because mail was really slow then. It was a draw with no territory lost on either side. We became Canada and US acquired the Star Spangled Banner!
