UNDERSTAND MY FIRST STEPS AS A VOLUNTEER FOR MISSING CHILDREN

UNDERSTAND MY FIRST STEPS AS A VOLUNTEER FOR MISSING CHILDREN
https://youtu.be/llq4VU8Cl9A

1989 – So a friend of mine told the abductor of my Daughter this:
“Listen, and understand, because you abducted Richard’s daughter. He is mad as hell and what has surprised us all, he has acted really fast hunting for you out here. One thing for sure is; he can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. For what you did he doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear and he will absolutely not stop, ever, until he recovers back his child! Then he will do whatever it takes to try and see that you’re locked up behind bars for a very long, long time!” So you better return her and or make peace cause I am just saying…
https://youtu.be/mpYzO6bZMTs

Here I am again, alone another memory date and as always, it’s hard to decide where I should start and at the same time very easy for it’s all there. All the memories, pain, fear, stress etc. are just a recalled flashback away!
My story started simply enough: a failing marriage with a spouse who threatened to leave at any moment and with the spoken and unspoken threat of, “when I leave you will also never see your daughter again!”

Boom! It happened and as I was too close to realize it, or I did not want to believe, for I was taken by surprise!
I shall not go into the reasons or the mental avalanche that I went through. It was hard 30 years ago, for as a male I was told by one Police Officer; “To be happy, that since the old lady and kid were gone, why I don’t go have a beer?”
At the same time I am a male and the stigma of my gender and at that time, people thought I must have done something wrong to bring this about. Hey, you’re a male, just for that alone, you probably deserve it!
The fact is that I did not deserve it and no one, female or male deserves it, ever!!

My main concern was for my child because the person who had her in my opinion was mentally ill and a drunk and safety of my daughter was paramount. This person did not take and deny me my daughter because she wanted exclusivity. She took her to extract some sort of warped infliction of pain on me. The proof of this is that in the 30 years plus since I got my child back, she has never tried once to see our daughter. Not that you cannot find me either, as I am not that hard to find or that she was denied visitation, just unsupervised visitation.

For the parents like me who have lived through this hell, they know what I am talking about. We are all members of an exclusive club (family if you like), that has the highest entrance dues imaginable: the temporary or permanent loss of your own child. Imagine that your own flesh and blood child taken due to whatever horror that one can come up with.

After my youngest daughter was returned to me I wanted to repay those who helped me, through all of this!
Eric Sommerfeldt at Child Find Alberta listened to all my rants, frustrations and pain; he did so with Great Patience during all hours, many days and through many tears.
Even through hard work and a steep learning curve for myself, in a system that at that time had all the odds stacked against me.
I was blessed with the return of my youngest daughter.
Mostly I had help through prayer, my co-workers, family, friends, lawyers, judges, even police and many people who I would never have met if not for this tragedy.

For back then, I had made 2 promises to the GOD, that if my prayers were answered and my daughter was returned to me safe and sound, then I would make sure that no one I ever came across would have to go through this horror the hard way, like I did. Promise 2, is that I would also become a follower of Jesus Christ.

From 1989 on, I helped out with finger printing other people’s kids for Child Find Alberta. That was nice and my youngest daughter had fun helping out as well. It was not really what I wanted to do though and it did not fill the parameters of my self made promise.
I nagged and nagged the Child Find Alberta Office and In 1991 I became a card carrying volunteer of Child Find Alberta.
I was trained by Dave to be a volunteer Case Manager for parents of all missing children. I was on call 24 hours a day and seven days a week, for Alberta, British Columbia, N.W.T.'s and the Yukon.
https://youtu.be/6O_dqZgFW_I

At the time I assisted parents in exploring their options to locate their children. Giving them emotional support while and taking their information for Child Find Alberta, for essentially I am just a good listener.
Though I am not a trained social worker/psychiatrist or lawyer, what I do let them know is that I am a parent. Who like them, has already gone through the same fog of despair of a missing child. I give them my hand and together, we walk as far as we can.

After I gathered the necessary information I send it to the full time week day Staff and Investigative Unit via whatever means possible. From that point the full time week day, Case Managers then set up appointments and started the process to hopefully recover the Missing Child.

Since then, I have taken 300 plus calls all hours of the day and night and in some of the strangest places.
Once, I was out of town and on a power pole assisting in the installation of a new power line to my family’s new garage. I was passed up a cell phone by my sister with a distressed parent of a Missing Child on the other end. I relied on my memory of the conversation to write my report. At that time of Child Find Alberta’s operations, I was afraid that I would lose the call, if I moved or hung up for a moment. So I stayed on my power pole and the bonus was that I also had a great view of the Rockies!

One of my scariest calls and we all have one, is a call that I received at 3 AM from a young man who informed me that he had run away from out of province and he had just arrived in Calgary. He went on to inform me that he was getting no help from anyone even though he was a reported “runaway”. The Police and drop in centers would not help him and I was his last resort!
With help from my late wife I was able to contact the Calgary City Police Services and they were going to send a car around to this young man.

He threatened suicide if I did not come down to where he was and help him out. I explained that I could not come down to where he was and that the Police would soon be there to help him out. Then he abruptly said well, “That’s it!” “Thanks for nothing!” “My death will be on your hands” and he hung up.
We both (my wife Joyce and I), sat there in the dark enveloped in the chilling silence and just did not know what to do.
The Police dispatch said that a car was to be dispatched but how long would that take and was this young man still at that location??

Both my wife Joyce and I just stared at each other and I was torn about going to him or not but that was not in my training, as I had done all that I could do.
I did not sleep much that night and the next day I was informed by Dave that when the Police arrived at that young man’s location.
That there was not just one young person there, like we thought but also several others. Who, if I ignored my training and went to personally assist him, they would have promptly mugged and robbed me for my efforts. This young man not only was a runaway from out of province but one with a long list of outstanding violent arrest warrants to his credit.

These are again just two of my bizarre stories that we, who do this kind of volunteer work sometimes come across.
Through all of these calls and experiences I was lucky enough to keep my promises.
Which again was to make sure that no-one whom I ever came across, would have to go through this horror the hard way, alone like I once did.

I then had the honor in March 2003 to be chosen to attend training and become a member of an organization called Team H.O.P.E. (Help Offering Parents Empowerment) for 10 years (2003-2013) I was a volunteer for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's Team HOPE (Help Offering Parents Empowerment). Since then combined with Child Find Alberta work I made nightly calls to over 408 Parents and assist them in the recovery of their Missing Children, again starting with Child Find Alberta and then through Team Hope of the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children. The NCMEC is the U.S. based Center that was co-founded by Patti Wetterling, Abby Potash and John Walsh of America's Most Wanted after the murder of his son Adam.

I took all calls related to Missing Children, North America and International. I was able to handle these through the extensive training that I received. Also I was proudly part of the team called the “Grief Busters”, which is Team H.O.P.E.’s most western group of volunteers.
From which, I have brought these new skills to Child Find Alberta and I use them regularly. For I now have more knowledge to offer and I am making great headway to keeping my self-made promise. For my promise continues and will probably continue till I do not.

Also in 2004, I became a Christian at Centre Street Church, to keep my second part of my 2 promises. From here at Centre Street I again volunteered I was able to take the little bit of computer knowledge and use it to help build a Computer Lab at the High School in KwaZulu-Natal Province, Bhekulwandle South Africa. Through Samaritan’s Purse Canada, I went to the Gulf of Mexico (Mississippi and Louisiana) and I assisted in the recovery of 70 Hurricane Katrina ravaged homes. I am very proud of all this and I am also in awe at how far I have come since I was the very distraught parent of Missing Child 30 plus years ago.

DARK ROOMS, NOT OF THEIR OWN CHOOSING.

DARK ROOMS, NOT OF THEIR OWN CHOOSING.
  https://youtu.be/n4CQK-ML_KA
Do you remember as a kid, the feeling of daring yourself at night to walk across a dark room?
In a way you were excited because you know; you really know that there is nothing there to hurt you.
Some people get to choose their dark rooms.
They get to look for places where fear is only skin-deep but some people are nowhere near that lucky, as sadly the choice is made for them.
Due to my volunteer work with Missing Children, I have never known what to say to the parents and families of murdered loved ones.
The only thing that I can think of is to offer them my prayers so that they and their families are given strength and comfort during such a difficult time.
While they walk through their dark rooms, not of their own choosing.

THE DANDELION PRINCIPLE

THE DANDELION PRINCIPLE
Dandelions were introduced into the New World by fur traders because they grew so well and had enough vitamin C to prevent scurvy.
Another benefit is that the dandelion is as today, a good cheap and easy - to - grow food source.
So with a profitable fur trade calling, dandelions accompanied these early colonists.
Once the colonists were settled in and the dandelions planted, the fur trader ships sailed back to merry old England, only to return two years later.
Upon their return, they found all of the colonists dead, but the dandelion thriving.

My story begins just after my recent return from a mission trip with my team to South Africa. My lawn, even though cut well by my son, needed my personal touch to make it perfect.
Facing me was a wall of yellow: dandelions!
As I routed out each one individually, I asked myself: Why did I not chemically exterminate them all before I left on the mission?
My answer was that I had decided to be greener this year.
The City of Calgary is also tending to go green, and the result of all this green, was the yellow sea before me.

When I calmed down a bit, I realized that there are more important issues in life then dandelions.
How can weeds compare to the life and death issues faced by some of the people whom I had met in South Africa?
For them, lack of housing, food and Aids are the killers.
There are no means of extermination for these issues yet.

Though many agencies work hard to give hope, we are only plugging holes in a fragile dam.
The NGO agencies provide medicine, support and friendship but nothing lasting.
My question is: what about a more lasting legacy?

In my talks with the Zulu people that I met, I came to the conclusion that something more permanent was needed. The majority of their children who we talked about, after high school will work menial jobs, or will often resort to a life of crime, drugs or alcohol abuse.
They do so as in so many other places, in an attempt to escape the squalor and hopelessness that surrounds them all.

My idea is that a new beginning might be made by supporting local initiatives, such building better homes like those built by Habitat for Humanity.
This would require government involvement, enhanced education and support for trades plus the whole heart co-operation of the local leaders.
The new built homes would then give hope and a brighter future with permanence, in what I call the dandelion principle.

So to those who see a mission such as my team and I were on, as a mere drop in the bucket, I reply that this bucket will eventually fill, if enough drops fall into it!

We can like the dandelion seed, spread on and on and from these humble beginnings, it is how seeds of hope will be spread.
I am proud to have played (along with my mission team), our small part in planting seeds of hope for future generations.

MAY 25th 2019 INTERNATIONAL MISSING CHILDREN'S DAY.

MAY 25th 2019 INTERNATIONAL MISSING CHILDREN'S DAY.

Jacob's Dream
https://youtu.be/sUtNRK3tYgg
In the spring of 1856 with the snow still on the ground.
Two little boys were lost in the mountains above the town.
The father went out hunting the boys had stayed behind.
While mother tended to her chores they wandered from her side.

The two had gone to follow him and lost their way instead.
By dusk the boys had not been found and fear had turned to dread.
200 men had gathered there to comb the mountain side.
The fires were built on the highest peak in hopes they'd see the light.

Oh mommy and daddy why can't you hear our cries?
The day is almost over, soon it will be night.
We're so cold and hungry and our feet are tired and sore.
We promise not to stray again from our cabin door...

Now Jacob Dibert woke one night from a strange and eerie dream.
He saw a path between two hills near a dark and swollen stream.
He told his wife he saw the boys huddled close beside a log.
For two more nights the dream returned this vision sent from God.

Oh mommy and daddy why can't you hear our cries?
The day is almost over, soon it will be night.
We're so cold and hungry and our feet are tired and sore.
We promise not to stray again from our cabin door...

A thousand men had searched in vain the west side of Bob's creek.
But Jacob's wife knew of this place and said to travel east.
With a guide to take him there, Jacob came upon the scene.
And found the boys cold and still beneath the old birch tree...

Oh mommy and daddy, look past the tears you cry.
We're both up in Heaven now, God is by our side!
As you lay us down to rest in the presence of the Lord.
Know that we will meet you here at Heaven's door...

Oh mommy and daddy, look past the tears you cry.
We're both up in Heaven now, God is by our side!
And as you lay us down to rest in the presence of the Lord.
Know that we will meet you here at Heaven's door...

LOVING ONE AND ANOTHER!

LOVING ONE AND ANOTHER!
HEBREWS 13:1-2
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
FOR AT THIS PRECISE MOMENT:
At this precise moment, I feel safe and secure in the knowledge that I shall one day; maybe soon, dwell in the House of the LORD. A very simplistic explanation for sure, just as simple as one would say that the sun does thou shine. Even Hawkins cannot explain the vastness and complexity of the universe but yet, I can speak of my inner peace...

WALKING YOUR WAY
https://youtu.be/KylMqxLzNGo
LORD, I am Walking Your way.
Let me in, for my body tires and my feet are sore.
My clothes are torn and ragged.

Look into my eyes LORD, as my sins will play out on them,

as on a screen.
From You I hide nothing, read them all.
I repent everything; forgive as only You my LORD, can.

Then send me back on my path, as I will walk on.
Until You LORD GOD, in JESUS CHRIST’S name,
do call me home and bid this man,
to dwell with Thee forever and ever.

Honorable Mention In Dispatches

Honorable Mention In Dispatches - Featured Team Hope Volunteer of the Week = Richard Abbenbroek
Families of Hope Team
By: Susan Morrow, Team Coordinator

With immense gratitude and affection, I present Richard Abbenbroek as Team HOPE’s volunteer of the week. Since 2003, Richard has been an ardent and diligent member of the Team HOPE family, his “adopted” family as Richard lovingly describes us.

While I know many of us know Richard well, and, in fact, call him “Sir Richard,” there are a few wonderful and, perhaps, unknown tidbits that I would like to share about our delightful cousin from Canada. As we remember from going through Team HOPE training, we were asked to provide our fingerprints. Richard, shall we say, had a “concern” about being asked to give his fingerprints during his training in 2003 in Alexandria. The reason? He thought that somehow the FBI would learn as NCMEC checked his background that one of his ancestors assisted in burning the White House during the War of 1812 along with the pillaging and burning the city of Washington, DC with his fellow Canadians.

A historical note: the Americans and Canadians finally resolved their differences in 1814 with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent and they have been loyal friends since. Nevertheless, Richard wanted to become a Team HOPE volunteer so fervently that he worried about the direly past deeds of his relative. After giving fingerprints, while other Team HOPE volunteers to-be went to a local “hang-out,” Richard took a tour of Washington DC. When he was the Vietnam memorial, he became so overcome with emotion that he started to cry. A veteran who was there told Richard that “It’s OK, Brother, come with me.” The man took Richard to a group of other veterans who did not believe he had never been in Vietnam. Richard continually said that he was just an ex-Canadian Air Force person who had served only in Canada. The veterans thought Richard was just in denial and gave him a wooden nickel, which said “Welcome Home, Brother!”

Along with his commitment to Team HOPE, Richard volunteers his time and heart admirably to other organizations and human crises. To those in need of a supporting hand, Richard is there to help. For a number of years, Richard was a Volunteer Intake Worker with Child Find Alberta and supported parents of all missing children. This position ultimately paved the way for Richard to become part of Team HOPE. He has also reached out via his church. When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005, he traveled with a church as part of Samaritans Purse Canada to Gulfport Biloxi, Mississippi and New Orleans Louisianna. For two weeks, Richard and his team cleaned more than 70 resident homes, salvaging personal and restoring the surroundings. On a mission trip to South Africa, Richard worked with his team on behalf of the Zulu people addressing their housing and general living needs. As Richard says, while his help and others are “drops in the bucket,” they are “planting seeds that can make a difference.”

Currently, it is Richard who is receiving OUR support and heart as he bravely battles cancer. He is so grateful for our caring and concern and we will always be there for him.

I am so fortunate and thankful to have Richard on our Families of HOPE team and a vibrant member of Team HOPE!

FIVE YEARS AGO ON MAY 7th 2014

FIVE YEARS AGO ON MAY 7th 2014 HOW JOYCE NARROWLY ESCAPED DEATH FROM BLOOD POISONING?

E. Coli lives in the gut of everyone and it is normally controlled by other good bacteria, which prevents it from causing problems but sometimes E. coli can get out of the gut quite randomly and then multiply because there are not other bacteria to prevent it doing this.
That's when it can cause massive infection, often in the form of Blood Poisoning, or Sepsis. This is because most people are not seeking treatment quickly enough; when she start to have symptoms such as a fever and trembling.

E. Coli or so I was told later, was something of a potential cause when a person begins to feel unwell a couple of days before near collapse.
When the infection started she felt a little shaky in her arms and legs, as if they were trembling very slightly, and she also felt a little short of breath.
The following day she was in the hospital again and felt quite well but by that evening her limbs again suddenly started shaking severely.

Realizing such excessive shivering known medically as rigors was a sign of a high fever according to Hospital Staff.
Joyce was coming down with something and her face was terribly flushed she suddenly found herself unable to catch her breath properly. The infected usually are gasping for breath which is very terrifying!

All one knows is that when your breathing is that bad it can be also a sign of heart failure, this is when you need an Ambulance! Once in the Hospital it is revealed that her body was fighting a massive infection.
One test which measures the amount of a protein in the blood show that high amounts are linked to an infection produced a result of 384mg per litre of blood. A normal result is five mg or under.

You are usually immediately prescribed strong antibiotics through a drip to battle the infection.
Normally, one usually cannot stop shaking and part of your mind goes blank too. You don't think of the how and why of the situation.

You just think: "Please Help Me!"
Test results together with scans of her kidneys, abdomen and chest revealed that Joyce had been struck with a virulent infection triggered by E. coli in the body.
The bacteria, which normally live in the colon, had without any obvious cause escaped the intestine and moved to the kidneys/bladder from where it has entered the blood stream.
This then triggered Sepsis or Blood Poisoning, which is caused by the body's response to the infection. Rather than helping to get rid of Sepsis, the Immune System makes it worse by releasing a high number of infection fighting proteins known as cytokines. These proteins, rather than detecting the infection, cause damage to the organs of the body and affect blood circulation.

After a few hours the antibiotics kicked in, then Joyce's shaking had stopped and she started drifting in and out of sleep. During this time the lab results which confirmed the blood poisoning which had been caused by E. coli. I was noting down this all I could for something to do other then comfort as I had been awake for the last 48 hours.
As a observer I was absolutely shocked at the sheer randomness of it.
It's quite frightening how it can strike at any time and there's nothing you can do about it!
Especially if one has had Sepsis before which she had in the form of flesh eating disease in 2008 so she was then prone to Sepsis that would strike anywhere on her body.
Though this type of E. Coli infection can strike anyone, children and the elderly are more vulnerable as their immune systems are not as strong.

The only after-effects of this illness were tiredness and weakness.
To help boost their health after you now have to take probiotic drinks twice a day.
Probiotics claim to increase the number of healthy or good bacteria in the gut. "Good" bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract are part of the body's immune system. The gut contains more immune cells than anywhere else in the body and these help to prevent bad bacteria from growing in the bowel or entering the body through the wall of the intestines to cause infection.
Drinking two to three litres of water a day to flush out bad bacteria and also drinks if two glasses of cranberry juice, as research suggests components in the juice may disable E. Coli bacteria.

Sepsis kills up to 50 per cent of sufferers partly because it strikes so quickly and the infection overwhelms the body. If I hadn't called that Ambulance and the Hospital had not given the right treatment, Joyce could have been dead within 24 hours…
Yet the worst was yet to come and I was in denial, as I am no Doctor.

Joyce came home as this was her wish not to be in a Hospice.
GOD knew, as He was ready to call Joyce home and on May 27th He did. AMEN.

IS THE PIZZA READY YET?

IS THE PIZZA READY YET?
Central Library location Main Circ Desk (Evening shift), as I walked past my co-worker and noticed that her Patron was directly, and I don’t know, he was kind of acting different?
Not that I was a big judge of people, for we are the Staff at the Public Library after all and the word PUBLIC is just that, open to anyone of the Public.
Yet, this young man though smaller than I, had clothes two sizes too big for him?

His demeanor was with his fists closed tight like he was cobra coiled and about going to strike the co-worker in front of him in a moments notice!
So, I swung around from my path down the line of the main desk and lying said to my co-worker; “Time for your lunch isn’t it?”.
She looked at me with a “Thank you, yes got to go!” and with that I turned to now to greet my new Patron, “Sorry about that Sir, I was late to relieve my co-worker for lunch, how may I help you?”

He stood, still clenching and un unclenching his fists, which reminded me of a hand grenade, with the pin pulled like during my Air Force training days.
All that was next needed was to have his spoon fly and he would explode right into me, a virtual guarantee of 100%! As I did not know what was wrong with this young really in need of in my opinion, HELP person. Just an intuition of course, as I am not a head Doctor.

We found out later that he had escaped from the old General Hospital Forensic Psychology Ward. He pinched from some locker, a Hospital Employee’s clothes and some how broke out.
When he left it was right after he was given his meds, that counter acted with his illness to him calm down but until this happened, and he calmed down.
He was supposed to be under observation and not in front of me with what ever was going to happen next?

The combined illness and meds gave him for a short time, the strength of the Hulk is the only way I would best describe it now. Yet I did not know this, but I sensed his violence and if I said just the wrong word, he would in true to comic book fiction form = BOOM! “You won’t like me if you made me angry, please do not make me angry!”

So, I asked what sort of material was he interested in? Business, History, Fiction, the Arts, or Magazine News Paper of some sort? I busied my self with writing down a note, like I was making a list for him. Though he had not said a word during his entire visit. What the note said was; “Please give this to the switchboard and ask them to call the POLICE and to please visit us, as we have a problem Patron here.”

I passed this note onto another co-worker and said; “Can you please let me know when the Pizza is ready yet so I can take my break when it arrives?”

Then I once again, I asked my Patron: “So Sir, do you have an idea of how we can help you?”
He moved a little closer, kept tightening up his fists and unflexing them but still said nothing to me.

I made sure that I did not make direct eye contact with him, but I kept calculating an escape plan, should his grenade spoon be released and then my five second or less explosion count down would begin.
More of me asking the Staff questions; “Has the Pizza been ordered? Is it ready yet?” “If so, how soon??”
I was assured by a very fast passing co-worker that indeed the Pizza Was Ready and was on its way, but it may be awhile as it is coming from another location and not from next door??

Where the main Police building was, they had to come from District One on 11th Avenue.

“Swell.” as my Patron was not talking and entertaining him was getting harder. So, I asked if he had a library card? Then I began to explain; “Sir to get a library card or renew your card, you will need to bring valid and current name and address identification and show me. The following are types of identification the Library will accept, (Yada Yada Yada), I could sign you up right now so you may take out up to 99 items tonight if you would like? Are you from Calgary, do you have a fixed address or a postal box? Some I.D. Drivers’ Licence, a S.I.N. card or a piece of mail to you with your name and address on it would also be a way to acquire your card Sir.”

“Pizza is here Richard!” in walked two Calgary Police Officers (I do not envy their careers one bit), so I stepped back from the desk a bit and the Police Officers inquired what the problem was here? Looking at me, after I explained that in my opinion this Patron needed some help. They proceeded to give me that look of; “Hey, he is smaller than you and you have to call us?”
Mistake number one I thought as they started to direct my Patron heading for the Main Desk turn style, which I quickly blurted out: “I would not go that way!”

At which moment the one Police Officer, said; “Library workers, yaaaa!”
The Patron quickly spun around like spider man and wrapped his hands plus self around the turn style. Knocking one Officers hat off, then he pushed away onto the floor the other Officer and proceeded back into the Library again.
Two more Police Officers appeared out of the blue (sorry for the pun) and tackled the Patron. At which point like the Hulk, he threw one then a second Police Officer away from him like a rag doll.
Then the whole group like a rugby match, all tackled each other, and two more Police Officers arrived! One emptied his bear spray into the Patron’s face and then let go the empty can go which went tink, tink, tink. A loud moan from the Patron came out of the melee and right then; “He’s got my gun!”

I moved from the main desk (ran actually) and asked all the other Patrons who where watching to move back into the Arts and Recreation Department, I even moved more that were coming off the elevators. “What’s happening?” they asked. “Someone is resisting arrest and Police are trying to restrain him”, I said. “What did he do?” I informed them; “that I did not know but if you would all kindly stay back here, it should all be over shortly!”
Finally, an ambulance arrived, and the Patron was in handcuffs, everyone was fine, the Police Officers gun was returned into its proper holster. I watched as they strapped our Patron down on an ambulance gurney and then I let the crowd of our other Patron’s head toward the Library check out desks.

Now, as I think of Pizza’s, I always remember this slice.
I was given a Calgary Public Library Cause for Applause Award.
Also hope that that this young Patron, got the help that he in my opinion, so desperately needed.
My wife after this always said; “Richard when your flying to one of your volunteer locations, please do not be a HERO and be the one to stop the person with the weapon. “Let someone else see if the Pizza is ready yet, Got It?”

Gayle and Randy Rest in Peace!

Gayle and Randy Rest in Peace!
It is always shocking to hear of someone's passing.
Please know that Gayle and Randy and their families are in my thoughts and prayers. Forgive me for taking so long but,
I believe if I may, share some of what I believe.
That Gayle's and Randy's passing is more to be envied then pitied, for we mere mortals can not distinguish between those who are deserving of grace and who are not.
Only the LORD GOD can and as such, GOD who is all knowing. Knows what kind of people that Gayle and Randy are.
I am confident that Gayle and Randy now enjoy that bliss, which is prepared only for the good and virtuous.
You can now comfort yourselves in reflecting that Gayle and Randy now enjoys in substance, what we in this world, can only imagine what Heaven will be like.
May the LORD GOD give you all strength, to see you through this difficult time.
My deepest condolence and prayers once again.
With Love,
Richard Abbenbroek...

GOD DETERMINES

GOD DETERMINES
https://youtu.be/ZOxQCA_-Ld4
God determines who walks into your life....
It's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.
When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God, is all you need.
For with God, you are never alone!
Now just take few seconds and give this a shot!
All you need to do is simply say this following small prayer for your friends:
Father God, please bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day!
May their life be full of Your peace, prosperity, and power, as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You.
In Christ Jesus name I pray.
Amen.
May the grace of our Lord be with you always!
I pray, on this Day to honour Mom’s - Richard Abbenbroek
It’s one thing to know there is a God; it’s quite another to know the God who is.
As I am before God, mere "Writings in Dust"...

“HALLELUJAH!” FIVE YEARS AGO.

“HALLELUJAH!” FIVE YEARS AGO. https://youtu.be/2zrrJnZu4dA
“Hallelujah!” to GOD I sing but I am home with Evie & yet still without my wife, I am so very, very alone.
I cry in the morning, again late in the evening, these tears fall down,
As this my soul tearing loneliness; brings me to my knees, right to the ground.
Through my aching pains in thy chest, maybe spasms, which I cannot described, I feel…
You near my GOD; “Hallelujah!” yet, when will my suffering too be gone?
“Hallelujah!”
“Hallelujah!”
“Hallelujah!”
My GOD help me & bring me and Evie one day to my wife yet with YOU FATHER GOD and home?
GOD my Father, when will my suffering be gone?
“Hallelujah!”

WISHED TO SHARE

WISHED TO SHARE
https://youtu.be/jIa-uKTYvqI
The important thing is that we wished to share.
For it is because we do care, do feel and we both have choices.
My needs are just the same as yours, as we are not at all that dissimilar.
So, take a moment to think about someone, anyone.
Wink, Wink, Wink, nudge, nudge say no more; anyone, got it?
Then push out a GOOD THOUGHT from your head and into theirs.
Feel it? Savour it? Can you Hold it? Or Rap yourself around it?
There now, you know that you and I are always in touch.
Both really with each other, for even if but for just a moment.
Part of you and I, has now been shared!
Cause we both Wished To Share…
