TODAY IS MY 15th CHRISTIAN BIRTHDAY!

TODAY IS MY 15th CHRISTIAN BIRTHDAY!
https://youtu.be/-anrM9wl0T8
Today is my Christian Birthday, for on October 30th 2004 is the day.
For which I was reborn, in the name of JESUS CHRIST.
I Praise our LORD GOD, as thy humble knight remembers this 15th year of my rebirth, for I write:

AS I DRAW CLOSER AND CLOSER HOME
Lord each day, is fully lived as only You would wish of thee.
I take in each second at a time, each minute, every hour,
another day, another month, yet another year,
of Your daily blessings to me.

My Love for all Your things, all creatures great and small, sunrise,
sunset, a clear mountain stream, my fellow man and woman.
A Love which only You can bestow on us all.
A Love if we want, we can actually all share.
As I rejoice in Your name; O My Lord GOD!

For in the future, when my moment draws near.
As thy humble knight in full but battered armour did repent,
on bent knees.
So through You, I shall and have been,
made righteous, before Your Holy Throne.

For thy humble knight's heart is about to explode.
As I draw closer and closer to home.
Amen...

A DARK ROOM NOT OF THEIR CHOOSING

A DARK ROOM NOT OF THEIR CHOOSING
https://youtu.be/iXx3hgBvako
Remember as a kid, the feeling of daring yourself to walk across a dark room? In a way you were excited because you know, you really do know, that there's nothing there to hurt you. Some people get to choose their dark rooms. They get to look for places where the fear is only skin-deep but some people are nowhere near that lucky, as sadly the choice is made for them. I have never known what to say to parents and family of murdered loved ones. The only thing that I can think of, is to offer them my prayers so that they and their families are given strength as well as comfort during such a difficult time. While they walk through their dark rooms, not of their own choosing.
To those who have lost so much. With Love and all that heaven will allow!

HIDE YOU’RE HEART? – SIR RICHARD WHAT IS A KNIGHT IN WINTER??

HIDE YOU’RE HEART? – SIR RICHARD
WHAT IS A KNIGHT IN WINTER??
In the end, it Really Does Matter how well we have done for the GOOD Of Others and how much of ourselves that we have each put into achieving these goals for that is LOVE and without LOVE, life is not worth living.

For out of this LOVE from of our GOD given souls, flows all truth/caring, all meaningful works, all real worship of GOD through all sacrifice that JESUS CHRIST made for each and every one of us!
That is this Knight’s belief system, which I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT THEE CONSIDER…

Our Faith, Hope, with this LOVE which was issued from this same fountain, as well.
Because it is in our Hearts that we first heard the voice of GOD and it is in the Heart that we come to know of HIM and learn to live by HIS LOVE. So you can see that to lose Heart, is to lose everything and a LOSS OF HEART, best describes most men and women of today.

It isn’t just the addictions and affairs and depression and heartaches and killing, though, GOD knows, there are enough of these to cause even the best of us to lose Heart.
As always these days, we all have our business, all of our many worldly divisions and the fact that most of us are just living, merely to survive!!

Beneath it all at times we all feel - restless, weary, and vulnerable. Indeed, the many forces driving modern life have not only assaulted our Hearts, they have also dismantled our Heart’s habitat and the geography of its mystery which transcended what we all knew so well as children. All of us have had that experience at one time or another, whether as we walked away from our teachers, our parents, a church service, or those whom we once LOVED…

The sense is that something important, perhaps the only thing that is important, had been explained away or tarnished and was lost to us forever…

Sometimes little by little, sometimes in large chunks, of our lives have been appropriated to a terrain which was only meant to sustain and nourish the wilder life of the HEART.
Forcing it to retreat and hide our HEART’S in doing so becoming as an endangered species into smaller, more secluded, and often darker geographic location for their survival from others.

My suggestion is that when this happens, take your Heart to GOD and put your Heart before HIM.
For GOD never fails as HE is always Good and Just.
GOD will separate the wheat from the chaff and with HIS ETERNAL LOVE will give our Heart’s back, anew.
So we can do what we were all put here for in the first place and that is to continue on and LOVE ONE ANOTHER!
I state this in HIS precious name - AMEN!

LEST WE FORGET THE LAS VEGAS MASSACRE!

LEST WE FORGET THE
LAS VEGAS MASSACRE!
Just a a guy in his 60's, who lived in a retirement village. Quiet, peaceful had a mental check to fly a plane and checked out OK. Yet NO mental or checks for him to obtain many MILITARY GRADE ASSAULT RIFLES?
Yet this is the start problem allowing military assault rifles to be available to hunt, protect, to shoot at range, no to KILL JUST BECAUSE!
On the night of October 1, 2017, a lone gunman opened fire on a crowd of concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. He killed 58 people and wounded 422, with the ensuing panic bringing the injury total to 851. The shooter, Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, Nevada, fired more than 1,100 rounds of ammunition from his suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The shooting occurred between 10:05 and 10:15 p.m. PDT; about an hour later, Paddock was found dead in his room from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His motive remains officially undetermined.

YOUR LIFE IT ISN’T OVER UNTIL SAYETH - THE LORD GOD!

YOUR LIFE IT ISN’T OVER UNTIL
SAYETH - THE LORD GOD!

https://youtu.be/i9YvB9FmR3E
FATHER GOD (I pray), we have so much in this world here. Thank YOU for it all and forgive us all for not sharing it well!
Our petty cruelty, and selfish desires cause us to create such divide between those who have and those who have not, causing their lives to be of misery and pain.
Though I can hardly await the day YOU call me home into Thy arms and join with YOU in heaven.
I believe we have to make our mark for Thee by Testifying for JESUS CHRIST, along with helping others in Thy name.
Judging not for that is within Thy preserve FATHER GOD!
So I pray in request that You give me strength, as You bade me to toil on, and do Thy bidding!
Bringing only Glory to Thy Name FATHER GOD!
With Your Love and Selfless Compassion for the many, in ways of Righteousness and Without Sin.
I pray in the Name of You FATHER GOD, the Son JESUS CHRIST and the HOLY SPIRIT. AMEN!

UNFAMILIAR TURF

UNFAMILIAR TURF
https://youtu.be/BuhWTIhRV6w
Ever since my 20’s, I have found that for me I always seem to be, on unfamiliar turf over and over again?
I look back and see just how much my life has changed and now since the loss of my wife Joyce and my Cancer now in remission, I am truly on unfamiliar turf.
By trial and error I found that sometimes the best way to move into the unfamiliar is to take familiar steps, small steps. To do ordinary things to deal with something that is in no way is ordinary.
After all, throughout one’s life we're always going someplace new all the time. Familiar things just let us pretend that we aren't moving into unfamiliar territory.
You take those small familiar steps, and you try to be honest, to live as if nothing had changed and still to just go on with your life. Then again, there are times when what you actually need, is just a small piece of how things used to be and by acting them out, or through a visit that is good for your soul, if you are Christian. A visit by praying your troubled soul to JESUS CHRIST for He is there to listen always!
Then you will find out that once again you are still all right, not in the past but within your new unfamiliar and at times, I have taken comfort by doing this. My advice is as a Christian, always cherish JESUS CHRIST as you will need Him, when you encounter your unfamiliar turf…

HEY HAPPY NUKE DAY!

HEY HAPPY NUKE DAY!
IT WAS ONLY 57 YEARS AGO TODAY.
SINCE WE WERE NEARLY ALL VAPORIZED!
THANK GOD WE DID NOT!!!
YET SINCE, I HAVE LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLo0aOfDrLY

1950/60’s CITY OF CALGARY ALBERTA AIR RAID DRILL
In 1962 we were sent home with a note for our Mothers to sign, eat our lunch and then run back fast as we could to school so have our teacher could countersign our note with our, arrival back time at school for the Canadian Civil Defense. Well, I always rode my bike (winter or not), so they made my friend Glen walks with me, so in case I a blown inner tube or my chain fell off I would be equal like all the other kids.

“Please click on the forward arrow to start the below video” https://www.cbc.ca/…/calgary-evacuates-operation-lifesaver-…
During the Cuban Missile Crises, I used to have strange dreams about a Nuclear War as I could not see why we were so concerned about Cuba?? Small, far away from Canada and I did not even know anyone from there? So if it meant (as in my dreams). climbing up our basement steel support beams cause our home was gone, as I ran from Radio Active Wolves that I dreamed about, then let them have it!!!

The Russians that is, as they could have the place, I didn’t even like Bananas then anyhow?
So when my Dad returned from one of his 2 jobs I asked him what would happen if, I did not make it home in time to be with our family?
So to explain he took a slow drag off of his cigarette and flicked an extra ash onto the one that was already on the ground. Then said; “see those 2 ashes, well (as he used his shoe to join them together), the Atomic bomb will turn us all into ash so fast we will not feel a thing and all of us will then be one ash everywhere so you need not worry cause we will be together and those Wolves will be ash as well, hurting no one.”

My Dad never lied so I knew it was the truth and I felt a bit better.
Then when the big air raid day came I told my friend Glen what my Dad said and we walked very slow and even went to Dairy Queen as I had $.25, which was enough for 2 shakes! Mine was strawberry and I was the last one into school. My grade 2 teacher went ape, and for being the last one in and not taking my Grade 2 duties serious, I got a both hands strap in front of the class!

When I was in the Royal Canadian Air Force, during basic training, we learned all about, Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare and we had a sign as you can see posted here that was posted all over the base, which made me just as happy as that Strawberry Shake did a decade earlier! P.S. I also Love this film as it informs you how to survive a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare, now put this thought through you heads, it is summer, and you have to relieve yourself, also try opening and eating a can of peaches for shit’s and giggles, now there is a an hour of toasty fun, while at the same time someone with an AK -47 is coming to join you for lunch but with very bad table manors? LOL

TODAY in 1970 I LOST A PIECE OF MY HEART. I WATCHED JANIS PERFORM AT FESTIVAL EXPRESS JUST THAT AUGUST!
In the summer of 1966, Janis Joplin was a drifter; four years later, she was a rock-and-roll legend. She’d gone from complete unknown to generational icon on the strength of a single, blistering performance at the Monterey International Pop Festival in the summer of 1967, and she’d followed that up with three years of touring and recording that cemented her status as, in the words of one critic, “second only to Bob Dylan in importance as a creator/recorder/embodiment of her generation’s history and mythology.”

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, in 1943, Janis Joplin made her way to San Francisco in 1966, where she fell in with a local group called Big Brother and the Holding Company. It was with this group that she would become famous, first through her legendary performance of “Ball And Chain” at Monterey and then with the 1968 album Cheap Thrills. She soon split off to launch a solo career, however, her personality and her voice being far too big to be contained within a group.

”I’d rather not sing than sing quiet,” she once said in comparing herself to one of her musical idols. “Billie Holliday was subtle and refined. I’m going to shove that power right into you, right through you and you can’t refuse it.” But if sheer abandon was Janis Joplin’s vocal trademark, she nevertheless always combined it with a musicality and authenticity that lent her music a great deal more soul than much of what the psychedelic era produced.

But it was never just music, or the passion she displayed in performing it, that made Janis Joplin an icon. It was the no-holds-barred gusto with which she lived every other aspect of her life as well. Far from being an empty cliché, “sex, drugs, and rock and roll” was a revolutionary philosophy to many in the late 1960s, and Janis Joplin was its leading female exponent. Her string of romantic conquests ranged from Kris Kristofferson to Dick Cavett. Her drug and alcohol consumption was prolific. And the rock and roll she produced was timeless, from “Piece Of My Heart,” “Get It While You Can” and “Mercedes Benz” to her biggest pop hit, “Me And My Bobby McGee.”

In the autumn of 1970, Janis Joplin was in Los Angeles putting the finishing touches on the album that would prove to be the biggest hit of her career, Pearl. She did not live to see the album’s release, however. On this day in 1970, she died of an accidental heroin overdose and was discovered in her Los Angeles hotel room after failing to show for a scheduled recording session. She was 27 years old.
Ms Janis would be 76 today.

ANOTHER BUCKET LIST WISH OF SIR RICHARD’S

ANOTHER BUCKET LIST WISH OF SIR RICHARD’S
https://youtu.be/abmuxiu02D8
The Wish: To be able to walk in Bethsaida, where also Jesus walked and to share communion there with my Life Group. The name Bethsaida is of Aramaic origin, meaning the "fishing house" or "the house of fishing". This is the village into which the disciples of Jesus, Peter, Andrew, and Philip and perhaps the Zebedee brothers were born and raised. This is the place that was visited by Jesus and witnessed his mighty works. And against this backdrop, it is clear to understand the call of Jesus for his disciples to become fishers of men.

The Naked Archaeologist, "Bethsaida & The Cross"
In 1994 archaeologist found a large piece of shard in a fisherman’s house with a cross clearly engraved on it. This received world attention. Now archaeologists scarcely mention it. In that same fisherman’s house they found numerous anchors and fishing equipment and a kitchen with a stove and a grinding stone and implements for making wine. The occupant of this house had his own wine cellar.
I the town of Bethsaida in the Galilee where Jesus and his disciples hung out, and archaeologically dated to that time. But the cross did not become a symbol for Christianity for another three centuries. The Naked Archaeologist investigates what this cross is doing here, and what its original meaning might have been, which could change our understanding of the Jesus movement. https://youtu.be/nXFL6PBdo5Y
Bethsaida: Jesus cursed Bethsaida since its Jewish residents did not follow his teachings (Matthew 11 21: "Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes". Indeed, the cursed city was destroyed during the 4th CenturyAD.

THE HISTORY AND ORIGIN OF CANADIAN AND U.S. THANKSGIVING

THE HISTORY AND ORIGIN OF CANADIAN AND U.S. THANKSGIVING
https://youtu.be/OB965aUPsmM
In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October, this year 2013 it falls on Monday Oct. 14th. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north.

The history of Thanksgiving in Canada goes back to an English explorer, Martin Frobisher, who had been trying to find a northern passage to the Orient. He did not succeed but he did establish a settlement in Northern America. In the year 1578, he held a formal ceremony, in what is now called Newfoundland, to give thanks for surviving the long journey. This is considered the first Canadian Thanksgiving. Other settlers arrived and continued these ceremonies. He was later knighted and had an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean in northern Canada named after him - Frobisher Bay.

At the same time, French settlers, having crossed the ocean and arrived in Canada with explorer Samuel de Champlain, also held huge feasts of thanks. They even formed 'The Order of Good Cheer' and gladly shared their food with their Indian neighbors.

In the US a collective prayer of thanksgiving was led by Captain John Woodlief in the Virginia Colony on December 4, 1619 near the current site of Berkeley Plantation, where celebrations are still held each year in November. Woodleif addressed the 38 men with: "We ordain that the day of our ships arrival at the place assigned for plantacon in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually kept holy as a day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God."

The Pilgrims were particularly thankful to Squanto, the Native American who taught them how to catch eel, grow corn and who served as an interpreter for them (Squanto had learned English as a slave in Europe). Without Squanto's help the Pilgrims might not have survived in the New World. The explorers who later came to be called the "Pilgrims" set apart a day to celebrate at Plymouth immediately after their first harvest, in 1621. At the time, this was not regarded as a Thanksgiving observance; harvest festivals were existing parts of English and Wampanoag tradition alike. Several American colonists have personal accounts of the 1621 feast in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

In Canada, after the Seven Year's War ended in 1763, the citizens of Halifax Nova Scotia held a special day of Thanksgiving.

During the American Revolution, Americans who remained loyal to England moved to Canada where they brought the customs and practices of the American Thanksgiving to Canada. There are many similarities between the two Thanksgivings such as the cornucopia and the pumpkin pie.

In the First US National Proclamation of Thanksgiving, was given by then President George Washington on October 3rd 1789, he created the first Thanksgiving Day designated by the national government of the United States of America.

In the middle of the American Civil War (October 3, 1863), President Abraham Lincoln, prompted by a series of editorials written by Sarah Josepha Hale, proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day, to be celebrated on the final Thursday in November 1863.

"The first Thanksgiving Day in Canada after Confederation was observed on April 15, 1872, to celebrate the recovery of The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) from a serious illness."

Eventually in 1879, the Canadian Parliament declared November 6th a day of Thanksgiving and a national holiday. Over the years many dates were used for Thanksgiving, the most popular was the 3rd Monday in October.

After World War I, both Armistice Day and Thanksgiving were celebrated on the Monday of the week in which November 11th occurred. Ten years later, in 1931, the two days became separate holidays and Armistice Day was renamed Remembrance Day.

Finally, on January 31st, 1957, the Canadian Parliament proclaimed..."A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed ... to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October.

REMEMBER UNITS OF TIME!

REMEMBER UNITS OF TIME!
Years ago, I wrote the below for a troubled time in my Wife's life when her previous husband to me passed. Also because of my Youngest Child's Parental Abduction, I used it for Family Members of the Missing whom I had the honour to work with.
I hope, that this may be of some comfort to others, to bad I have trouble following my own advice now:
https://youtu.be/8cNeXWpTVlo

REMEMBER UNITS OF TIME!
Remember that it is always darkest before the dawn as I believe that there is a purpose for everything and everyone. Today, you may even see a little of the light that will guide you out of your tunnel.
As you know, I have been there myself so I have an idea of this pain.
The only quick advice that I can give, is that this nightmare shall pass.
To do this you may have to break your day down into units of time, and at the passing of each unit, note that you are fine.
First there are seconds that will pass and please note, that you are still fine.
Then a minute will pass by and please note, that you are still fine.
After 60 minutes you have an hour and please note, that you are still fine.
The hardest is the night but as you are tired (and even in the day light, that's normal as it is called depression) but you will get through this as well, by sleep and when you wake up, note that you are still fine.
Then 24 hours = a day shall pass and please note, that you are still fine.
30 days = a month and please note, that you are still fine.
12 months will go by very quickly and please note, that you are still fine!
Then one day you will be in my league (29 years this year) and as each decade passes please note, that you survived this and you are, still fine...
Keep focused on this and those who will love you no matter what!
As they one day, may need you and because of you, for them all will be fine!

THE TOILET

The word toilet derives from the French word toile, meaning a “cloth” (toilette is a “small cloth”), that was draped over a lady or gentleman’s shoulders for hairdressing.
Around 4500 years ago, communities in Scotland, the Indus Valley (present day Pakistan), and Mesopotamia used pipes to carry waste from inside of buildings to outdoors.
Toilets in Egypt used a keyhole shape to increase comfort, whilst the Romans built sewer systems to carry waste into streams and rivers. Flushing first appeared in Knossos, on the island of Crete about 4000 years ago. Rainwater captured in rooftop pans was used to wash away waste via pipes.

Multi-seat public toilets represent something new on the ancient urban landscape and distinguish Roman toilets from their predecessors.”
Roman Toilets, with multi-seat toilets were fixtures in city life by the 2nd century BCE and were usually long benches with holes in them, built near public areas or buildings, and over main sewer lines. Roman toilets were probably standardized to make them transportable and recognizable across Roman geography.

Over the course of decades of excavations at the City of David, which abuts Jerusalem’s Old City, as many as four partial toilets or toilet seats have been discovered. The most cited seat was found in what is called the House of Ahi’el, on the northeastern slope of the City of David.
It is a typical four-roomed Israelite dwelling from the 8th and 7th centuries BCE, whose name derives from a Hebrew inscription on shard found in the there. The house was large, reflecting the prosperity of the era ahead of the Babylonian destruction in 587-6 BCE, and had an external stone staircase, which led to a second floor.

In a small room, about four and a half feet square, on the ground floor, a limestone toilet seat was discovered embedded in the plaster floor above a plaster-lined cesspit, which reaches eight feet below the floor. The toilet seat was fashioned from a large block of locally available limestone.

A toilet is a plumbing fixture used for defecation and urination. Modern toilets consist of a bowl fitted with a hinged seat that's connected to a waste pipe where waste is flushed. Toilets are also called privy, latrine, water closet, or lavatory. Contrary to urban legend, Sir Thomas Crapper did not invent the toilet.

Here's a brief timeline of toilets:
King Minos of Crete had the first flushing water closet recorded in history and that was over 2,800 years ago.

A toilet was discovered in the tomb of a Chinese king of the Western Han Dynasty that dates back to somewhere between 206 BC to 24 AD.

The ancient Romans had a system of sewers. They built simple outhouses or latrines directly over the running waters of the sewers that poured into the Tiber River.

Chamber pots were used during the middle ages. A chamber pot is a special metal or ceramic bowl that you used and then tossed the contents out (often out the window).

In 1596, a flush toilet was invented and built for Queen Elizabeth I by her godson, Sir John Harrington.

The first patent for the flushing toilet was issued to Alexander Cummings in 1775.

During the 1800s, people would come to realize that poor sanitary conditions caused diseases. Thus having toilets and sewer systems that could control human waste became a priority to lawmakers, medical experts, inventors as well as the general public.

In 1829, the Tremont Hotel of Boston became the first hotel to have indoor plumbing with eight water closets built by Isaiah Rogers.

Until 1840, indoor plumbing could be found only in the homes of the rich and the better hotels.
The Englishman with the unfortunate surname, Thomas Crapper, often gets credit for inventing the flushing toilet, and he undoubtedly was a major player in its development. His valve and siphon design was patented in 1891, and his company manufactured water closets that found wide acceptance all over the UK in the decades preceding World War I. His toilets imprinted with "T. Crapper Brass & Co. Ltd." inspired a generation of young American soldiers stationed in the UK during World War I, and they returned to America with a new slang term for the relatively new household fixture but was Crapper the father of the so called crapper?

Let's put it this way: Crapper didn't one day sit down in an outdoor privy and decide that what the world really needed was an indoor toilet. His product was simply another refinement of a design problem that the Victorians, in particular, had been puzzling over: how to build a flushing water closet that would efficiently and sanitarily remove waste without allowing dangerous sewer gases to enter.

When Crapper refined his design, flushing water closets weren't exactly a new idea. For example, Queen Elizabeth I's godson Sir John Harrington had designed one for her use in 1596, although it never caught on with the rest of English society, royal or otherwise, and was considered to be more of a novelty than a practical invention, especially in the absence of an extensive sewer system.

LOVE FROM YOUR HEART

LOVE FROM YOUR HEART
https://youtu.be/1OuUu-qKFkw
Does Love from your heart, dissipate like chimney smoke?
Or is it rock hard like granite, lasting for all of our eternities...
Do you stop Loving someone that you once Loved or have lost?
I think not, you store it in your heart and bring it out like a photo album.
To view and at times even share but it is stored and it never stops.

Can you Love more than one person in your lifetime, or is your personality like that of a single railway track?
Never diverting only going one direction and never to be shared...

I think not.
LOVE, is like the spokes of a bicycle wheel.
Racing out to as many as one needs to move on and always centered back too you.

To the Love from your heart...as GOD intended it to be, for He put that LOVE into your heart too.

FORGIVENESS!

FORGIVENESS!
BEING IN THE MILITARY IS A SORT OF FAMILY TRADITION SINCE 1812.
YET I HAVE ADDED HOPEFULLY, A NEW TRADITION;
FORGIVENESS!

https://youtu.be/XlCSW2ICJjQ
FOR IT IS NOT THAT IS WHAT IT IS, IT IS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!
AS SOME OF YOU HAVE HURT ME DEEPLY BUT IN JESUS CHRIST'S NAME I FORGIVE YOU!

“LORD, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister, who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
JESUS CHRIST answered; “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times!"
Again, the LORD Forgives and so do I.
Just one more thing, though your now Forgiven.
Over our time together, I have learned that our relationship was toxic, so I will no longer hang out with you till you have sought out help for yourself.
AMEN?

THROUGH CLENCHED TEETH, EH

THAT IT'S GOOD TO BE ALIVE TODAY!
By Michael Franti & Spearhead

Everyday I wake up and turn my phone on
I read the news of the day, just as it's coming down
I do my best not to let it get me down
I try to keep my head up, but this is Babylon!

This World's in crisis, we try to fight it, this changing climate
With scientists and politicians divided by it
So many ways we could solve it but they would never sign it
This mountains tumbling down, but still we try to climb it!

It's in the Torah, Quran and in the Bible!
Love is the message for somehow we turn to rivals
It's come to people always picking up their rifles
Another school getting shot up homicidal

Some people tryna to fly, some people tryna get high
Some people losing their mind, some people tryna get by
And when you look in my eyes, you see the sign of the times
We all looking for the same thing yeah..

But what if this song's number one?
Would it mean that Love had won?
Would it mean that the World was Saved?
And no guns are being drawn today?
What if everybody had a job?
And nobody had to break a law?
What if everyone could say yeah Ya!

That it's good to be alive today, yeah (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Is it good to be alive today yeah, (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Is it good to be alive today yeah

Is it good to be alive today yeah, (oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)

People used to feel safer when they, would hear a siren
Like help is on its way but now they only think of violence
Another youth in the streets and police is in a conflict
And now they hear the guns click, YO!

Ebola crisis and ISIS is taking heads off
A drone is bombing a village and now the kids all
Signing up to be soldiers, but they all willing now
To do the killing now, now are you willing now?

Some politicians out there making up some problems
And tryna tell the people that they can solve them
With TV shows and soundbites and quotes
But everybody knows that it's all about the cash flow!

They tellin you and me, they're making progress
But tell it to the millions of jobless
It's like a players club with billions of dollars
To get the votes you got to make it rain in Congress

Some people tryna look fly, some people tryna get high
Some people losing their mind, some people tryna get by
And when you look in my eyes, you see the sign of the times
That we all looking for the same thing yeah!

But what if this song's was number one?
Would it mean that Love had won?
Would it mean that the World was Saved?
And no bombs are being dropped today?
What if everybody had a job?
And nobody had to break a law?
What if everyone could say…yeah ya

That it's good to be alive today, yeah (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Yes it is good to be alive today, yeah (oh, oh, oh, oh)
That it’s good to be alive today (oh, oh, oh, oh)
Yes it is good to be alive today yeah!!!

And we all say!
One day, one day,
One day, one day,
One day, we all will say!

That it's good to be alive today!
One day, one day,
One day, one day,
One day, we all will say!

But what if this song's number one
Would it mean that Love had won?
Would it mean that the World was Saved?
And no bombs are being dropped today?

What if everybody had a job?
And nobody had to break a law?
What if everyone could say
That it's good to be alive today!!!!!!
