SIR RICHARD’s CALGARY
FLOOD 2013
These are my photos
of Calgary’s now historic flood. Only as a kid in the 1960’s
did it flood like
this and in the 1920’s as the ice flows during Spring break up on the Bow and
Elbow rivers.
In the 1960’s to
around 1970’s the town of Bowness and Montgomery where flooded quite bad from
the bow river and since then, only Spring rains and mountain snow runoff seemed
to flood the poor Homes and Apartments along the Elbow River below the Glenmore
Reservoir.
Though I am only an
amateur photographer my health (Heart Disease) makes it hard to walk down to
the river. Also the Police had the area blocked off and with good reason. It
would just take falling into an open man-hole or driving into one to ruin your
day big time!
I hope you like my
photos and here is a song to go with my Eye Candy.
Stevie Ray – Texas Flood:
To give those an idea
of how bad the damage is I added the below video, though we are not bad off as
Katrina (which I assisted in clean up) or the poor folks who suffered through
Hurricane Sandy.
Stampede grounds and Macleod trail, Calgary downtown flooding:
Sincerely and with
LOVE to you all!
AND THE
WATERS RECEDED…
THE SUN ONCE AGAIN SHONE UPON THE LAND.
AS LIFE SLOWLY RETURNED TO THE NORM.
THE SUN ONCE AGAIN SHONE UPON THE LAND.
AS LIFE SLOWLY RETURNED TO THE NORM.
From,
Sir Richard…
