Remembrance Day 2007 Last Post & Reveille

O Eternal God,
Who has set us in this beautiful land of Canada, we remember everyday.
With grateful hearts, the men and women of this nation, who have died and are currently serving on peace missions, so we might
enjoy this land in peace, with freedom and justice for all.
We remember their deeds of courage, their acts of valor and their willing sacrifice, though engaged in wars not of their own making.
We remember that they counted the loss of their own lives to be a reasonable price
To pay for the principles by which we live today.
For this their sacrifice,
for the peace they won,
for the remembrance of their lives,
we give thanks.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen
****************************
The souls of the righteous are in the hands of God
and no torment will ever touch them.
In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died and their departure was thought to be an affliction and their going from us to be their destruction;
but they are now at peace.
For though in the sight of men they were punished,
their hope is full of immortality.
Having been disciplined a little,
they will receive great good,
because God tested them and found them worthy of Himself;
like gold in the furnace.
He tried them and like a sacrificial burnt
offering, He accepted them.
In the time of their visitation they will shine forth,
and will run like sparks through the stubble.
They will govern nations and rule over peoples
and the Lord will reign over them forever.
Those who trust in Him will understand truth,
and the faithful will abide with Him in love,
because grace and mercy are upon His elect,
as He watches over His holy ones.
